Our students learn about conservation and about the animal’s importance and contributions to the ecosystem. For example, when Bright Kids Nursery in Al Najda adopted the honey bee, we used it as an opportunity to teach the children about pollination and making honey in fun and simple ways.
We also participate in programmes such as Earth Day, World Environment Day, Green Day and No Plastic Day, and we celebrate the Earth in multiple ways.
The theme one month was ‘Under the Sea’, and we discussed ways to protect sea creatures from plastic at morning assemblies. The children are taught to be conscious about plastic, to choose environmentally-friendly alternatives and to say no to plastic straws.
The children at Bright Kids Nursery also create treasure from trash, and we plan to have an exhibition soon to auction their creations and use the money for charity.
